1.Never ever connect a brushless motor directly to the battery, the motor will act as a short and go up in smoke! Brushless motors MUST be operated with a brushless controller!
2. Batteries are hardly current limited even empty cells can deliver a lot of current for a very short period of time. However, this period is long enough to ruin your ESC if the current draw of the motor is above the ESC's current rating!!
